Tuck me in my bed

March 5th, 2012 + 9:03 PM  ·  shanghaijack

Received a note from bandamp saying that I had not logged in in a whole year...
well, my last post dates to 2006. Many songs done since that time, but never really had the time or the courage to finish them off... This one is in a more complete state.
Not in a band, trying to play everything myself with results such as this.
Anyway, have fun listening.

Tuck me in my bed

Got any ghosts under your bed
Got any bats flying in your head
Got any thoughts for a bloodshed
That’s no fun if you think you’re dead

Got any leeches on the wall
Zombies limping cross the hall
Got a slipknot shadow in the room
That’s no fun if you think you’re doomed

Oh I will stay tonight. Etc…

Got a graveyard gathering Friday night
Got a midnight mass and a sacrifice
Got a drink or two with a headless knight
That’s no fun ‘cos it won’t suffice

Oh I will stay tonight, will stay tonight, will stay tonight

Slit the dog open and stuff your cat in it. Cook it
You get a doggy bag you can’t swim with. Hahaha
Blow the ass till firm and wait a minute. Pop it
You get a cat-a-soup mix you can’t resist.

I will stay tonight, etc..

Tuck me in my bed, etc…

The Beast Within

July 22nd, 2006 + 10:07 AM  ·  shanghaijack

4Th one. Drums/vocals/guitar/keyboard, the whole shebang is me myself and I. (hehehe)

I dedicate this one "To all the girls I've loved before"
(Thanks Julio for such an incredible line)

Lyrics:

The Beast Within

There is a warm breeze in the air
And there is moonshine in your hair
But I hear a silent roar in the distance
And there is moonshine on my blade

There is a light sparkle in your eyes
And the beast will be on its way (On its way)
I have to leave you now, nothing to say
I have to face and kill my own lies (My own lies)

Will you be there when I return?
Do you wish it should be me?
Or should it be the beast
Maybe the beast within

And I raise my hand and blade
As it rolls its head sideways
And it roars and roars again
As I rush to kill a friend

There’s a beast within
Oh oh, there’s a beast within, etc…
(There is a dark silence in your eyes)

Sword and Death

June 18th, 2006 + 9:06 AM  ·  shanghaijack

Third one.

Started from scratch after I posted King of Carcassonne last week.

This one is about a video game character headed straight to death (Isn't that great? Anyway, they all die 99% of the time. When they don't, it's because they won and the game is suddenly boring)

Lyrics (primitive I know, but what do you expect from a video game character anyway)

Sword and Death

Deep down
There’s a forest of life unknown
Deep down
There’s a forest of death, your own!
And you’re the only one alone
And you’re the only one

Way down
There’s a sword engraved in your name
Way down
A tombstone awaits the same
And you’re the only one to blame
And you’re the only one

Over there? Oh oh
There’s a shadow in the darkness
Oh no!
A tree, a soul, Oh oh
There’s evil in the nest
Oh no!

And you raise your sword so high
And you pray the gods of light
And you heart is bleeding might
In fear

King of Carcassonne

June 11th, 2006 + 10:06 AM  ·  shanghaijack

Folks, second song (4th one in reality, because number 2 and 3 in progress pose some serious unresolved challenges)

Still alone playing everything
Still find it difficult to record voices (and everything else for that matter!)

I thank the neighbours for not calling the police
(had to shout pretty loud to record this one!)

Inspired by the great city of Carcassonne, a must see for medieval fans! (believe me!)

A bright light

May 20th, 2006 + 9:05 AM  ·  shanghaijack

First song recorded.
Sorry folks for the poor mic quality (My voice probably does not deserve anything better!)

I don't play in a band.
Guitar: myseflf
Keyboard/piano: myself
Voice: myself
Drums: computer aided drums (myself)
No bass for now! Maybe later

Lyrics are here. Enjoy or hate!

A bright light.

In my head women walk on water
While men are drowning down below
There’s a little girl on the moon feeling lonely
There’s a boy throwing stones from the pier.

There’s a dog on the street and he’s smiling
‘Cos the old vet said he was going to die
There’s an old naked lady on the piano
And there’s a fat rat playing the violin

There’s a hero weeping on a park bench
In a book no one will ever read
There’s a three legged horse in a dark trail
And there is snow melting in my mouth.

There’s an old rag crying in the closet
And a broomstick beating on the wall
There’s a puzzle of my face on the carpet
And the last piece is crawling on the floor

In their head, there’s a bowl of sand on my pillow
And a grain of salt floating in my eyes
There’s an old naked lady feeling anger
And there’s a small girl playing the violin

There’s a poor man grinning at a scrarecrow
In a wheat field dancing in the wind
There’s a old shovel resting on a tall fence
And there’s a bright light, a bright light in my head
